After many years, as more and more of my childhood seems to dwindle away, I feel it is time to start documenting that part of my past, my first family, as well as my present family. By the time I came along, my granny did not share much of our family's past as she may have with my older cousins. It is my hope that they can remember some stories that she or my grandfather may have told.
Many years ago, I started a family tree on Ancestry.com. As births/deaths/marriages occurred or as I found new information, I have updated my tree. I cannot say that I would or could write to the level of Alex Haley, but it is my hope to one day find more information about our family, possibly tracing us back to some African shore.
